Quality
At Ardag, quality is our guide in all stages of production and marketing.
Our fingerlings live in open-system tanks with fresh seawater. Water and
food quality are continually monitored. At a weight of one gram, fingerlings
are transferred to our mesh sea cages. Here, in the clean waters of the
Red Sea, our professional sea staff raise the fish to maturity. The fish
are fed food designed to our specifications- no growth hormones or antibiotics
are used.
When the fish are fully grown, they are collected at sea, chilled immediately,
and brought to our packing house. The harvest process takes only a few
minutes, and the fish remain in a chilled sea water environment during
the entire collection and transfer.
At the packing house, the fish are quickly deep-chilled by our
unique, proprietary process. Packing for air freight takes place
immediately, and the fish are transferred to our local international airport
within a few hours. Whole, deep-chilled sea bream can arrive at destinations
worldwide less than 24 hours after they leave the water. Our special handling
and quick packing mean that our fish arrive fresher to their destination
and have a longer shelf-life than our competitors' products. We currently
ship on a regular basis to the United States, France, Italy, Switzerland,
Spain, Greece, and to our local market in Israel.
Our commitment to quality doesn't stop when a shipment goes to market.
In our lab, fish in all stages of development are constantly checked and
tested for adherence to our own high standards. In addition, we
have a close and ongoing relationship with the local laboratories of the
National Institute for Oceanic and Limnological Research, a government
agency which keeps us up to date on the latest scientific findings in
the field of aquaculture.
